Dr. J. Mark Kilmer – LMFT

Mark is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an ordained Presbyterian minister who served as Executive Director of the Samaritan Counseling Center from 1990-2007. Mark provides individual, marital and family therapy with children and adults. Mark describes his approach to therapy as:
“Goal focused therapy based on a strong relationship with clients. My therapy uses the theoretical perspectives of trans-generational, communication, structural family therapy and cognitive-behavioral approaches. My training as a pastoral counselor enables me to help clients access the healing and coping resources of their faith.”
In addition to part-time counseling at Samaritan Counseling Center, Mark is a full-time member of the Adler School of Psychology. He is a popular teacher for adult church groups presenting such topics as forgiveness, Renovare spiritual formation groups, Christian identity, the Bible’s view of emotions, Christian coping and marriage enrichment.
